We ❤ NYC Projected to Reach 80% of New Yorkers via LinkNYC
NEW YORK, NY – LinkNYC today announced it has joined Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Eric Adams, the Partnership for New York City and other civic leaders to support the new “We ❤ NYC” campaign. Focused on what New Yorkers can do to support the city’s post-pandemic resurgence, the campaign features opportunities for direct civic engagement and reaffirms that New York City is one of the most exciting places to live and work.
LinkNYC, the world’s largest and fastest public Wi-Fi network, is activating its entire network to promote We ❤ NYC. Kiosks across all five boroughs are showcasing more than 50 different features and messages over the course of the campaign. These displays are projected to reach 80% of all New Yorkers.
“LinkNYC is proud to support the We ❤ NYC campaign and help promote our city’s continued economic recovery,” said Nick Colvin, LinkNYC CEO. “New York City saw unprecedented inequities in digital connectivity during the pandemic — now, as our recovery continues, we are excited to keep building the infrastructure to address the digital divide and support this important campaign.”
The We ❤ NYC campaign is led by marketing executives Maryam Banikarim and Andrew Lerner with their team at MaryamB, working alongside the Ad Agency Founders, Grain Group, and Graham Clifford. The We ❤ NYC mark is a trademarked adaptation of Milton Glaser’s design for the “I ❤ NY” campaign that launched in 1977. Both marks are owned by New York State’s Department of Economic Development, which made the adaptation available for this campaign.
The We ❤ NYC campaign kicked off in March 2023 with a celebration of New Yorkers who are making a difference. A list of all partners, planned activities, and opportunities to get involved is available on the campaigns website.
